Teaching day 3

Tuesday 2 December 2015
On our third meeting, it was 2:20PM. We arrived a little bit late that time. As we arrived into the destination, the students are waiting for us and greet us. Before we start, we pray together hoping that today lesson will come to use.
We taught 7th grade students instead that time together with Dejan, we are in care of about 9 students that time, some of them arriving a little bit late from the dorm. While Yu, Kevin, and Yunanto are assigned into different grades dealing with math and English as well.
That day, we taught them about English specifically into reading and tips on how to do it. Most of them are not really good with English, so we have to teach them from the very basic and taught them with each words’ meaning. Though, some of them are not well informed with English. But they’re very enthusiastic about the lesson. Using their book, we taught them on how to read the following sentences and the meaning of it. And took several tries for them to understand the materials. These materials are mostly about invitation, reading passages, public signs, dialogue, warning, and many more. For the reading passage it’s basically about what, who, when, and where. The lesson took about 1 hour and a half excluding the time they pray at 3PM.
Before we go home, we buy several foods nearby the school area for both students and us. It was quite crowded so when we get back some of them went back to their room and several of them stayed waiting for us.
We learned that, teaching isn’t as easy as how we predict. People are different on how they learn and their behavior. Not just skills, but we need to be very patient and not indulge into our temper.
Here is the picture of us, several of them are missing.
